HPS GmbH was founded in the year 2000 and is owned by INVENT GmbH (manufacturing of composite structures for aeronautics, space, automotive and other terrestrial applications, as well as series production of piezo-electric actuator/sensor devices) and several private strategic partners.

In 2007 a daughter company HPS Lda, (“High Performance Structures Gestão e Engenharia Lda”) was established in Porto, Portugal, as a joint venture together with the Portuguese company INEGI. Main business areas of HPS Portugal are sophisticated composite structure engineering services, engineering tools developments, MLI design & in house manufacturing and MGSE, as well as aeronautics structure developments.
